Overview
Fiber Asphalt Chip Sealer (2 in 1) coat technology adopted by the fiber asphalt chip sealer (2 in 1) is a new technique. The asphalt (generally emulsified asphalt) and glass fiber are sprayed simultaneously. Then the aggregate is sprayed to form one new wearing layer or the press absorption interlayer.
Synchronous fiber chip seal technology is mainly applied in the road surface, bridge waterproofing, and lower seal coat constructions. In this process, asphalt binders spray is going on with fibers and aggregated spreading synchronously to make full contact between binders, fibers, and aggregates to perform maximum cohesive property.
Components and Structures
The fiber chip sealer consists of an asphalt spray system, chip spreading system, fiber spray system, electrical control system, and auxiliary engine system.

Asphalt Spray System
This system contains an asphalt tank, heating unit, hydraulic unit, control unit, and spray unit.
1. Asphalt Tank: the outer layer out of the tank is stainless steel frosted board, the middle layer is insulation fillers. Heating fire tubes and heat oil coils construct the internal part of the tank. The gas control valve bank out of the tank drives the major and minor circulation of asphalt and prevents asphalt from local overheating and aging.
2. Heating Unit: imported burner is applied with features of high burning efficiency, good atomizing effects, low oil consumption, fast heating speed, and safe stable operation. Asphalt at any part of the pipelines will be heated effectively without the laborer’s guidance.
3. Hydraulic Unit: components of famous international brands (like a hydraulic pump, hydraulic motor) ensure reliable drive performance.
4. Control Unit: radar and encoder can accurately detect vehicle speed and asphalt pump speed respectively and make sure spray precision. Radar, encoder, and main circuit switch components are all imported. When the spray volume is set, PLC can calculate vehicle speed and pump speed to automatically control spray and recommend appropriate vehicle speed.
5. Spray Unit: each nozzle is controlled by an air valve to be on or off. A specially designed pipeline structure makes sure uniform pressure and good spray effects.

Chip Spreading System
This system contains a material hopper, feed gate controller, and spreader.
Two stilling cones are installed in the hopper to convey aggregates into the double spiral charger. It adopts a 20-ways feed gate controller. A specially designed anti-skid roller prevents aggregates skidding on the roller from dropping. A double-spiral charger conveys aggregates to the lower hopper of 3500mm wide, then aggregates fall down by roller friction and self-gravity over the distribution plate to keep uniform spreading effects. Aggregates of various sizes (3~25mm) are suitable.

Fiber Spray System
The fiber is cut and crushed with the exclusive process and spread evenly in different directions and overlapped with each other between the two even layers of asphalt binders, which knits a mesh structure to stick to the asphalt binders. This structure effectively improves the comprehensive mechanical properties of sealing coat in tensile, shear, crush resistance, and shock resistance. The principle is just like that a piece of the protective mesh of high elasticity and high strength is paved between the surface coat and new roadbed, or on the original road surface.
